Blu Tree Dairy Farm

Our
Story
Get to Know Us
My name is Callysta. I own Blu Tree Farm, a smaller family-run farm, with the help of my mom and little sister who is in 4H. Named after our family and the wooded area we live in, our farm was established in 2016, and we started our animal journey in 2020. We started with different types of poultry, and we have since moved away from poultry after we fell in love with our dairy goats. We started our herd in 2023 with a pair of Nigerian Dwarf pet goats. As soon as they were brought home, our resident 4Her fell in love with doing goat projects, so we decided to expand our herd and transition our small farm to a dairy goat farm. We now run a small registered herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats with a special focus on raising conformationally correct show goats that still have high milk production. We are members of the ADGA, 4H, and the ANDDA.

Exciting News!!! The Ducks are Coming!!!
When we started our transition to a more focus dairy farm, we decreased our poultry program. Our 4Her's love of poultry has never diminished even though her love of goats has only grown. At the North Idaho State Fair, we were introduced to new friends and met up with our old friends as well. One change during our main fair this year, was the NISF GSSS (Gem State Stock and Show) and YSSS (Youth Stock Sale and Show) poultry programs. We got our first taste of an American Poultry Association style of show. Our 4Her was hooked, and so were some of our older family members as well (the ones that like to complain at times that I have too many animals... Oh well). After some convincing arguments, and a little bit of begging, we are bring back the Blu Tree Poultry Program with a few changes. Before, it was mostly a breeding backyard layers to maximizing egg production for our farm. Now, we will be focusing a bit more on quality over quantity. This is to be able to show in APA Shows with the birds better. This coming October, 2025, we will be adding ducks to our program, and refining our Standard (Cream Legbars) and Bantam (Bantam Cochins) Chicken Flocks'. Depending on how well everything goes, we will possibly be offering eating and hatching eggs, as well as ducklings and chicks, Spring 2026.
